Following an investment of more than ten million Euros in the state-of-the-art Outo Kumpu Long-Products Facility, it was of prime importance for us to make sure that our aims and ambitions were understood and totally embraced by any external contributors. Naturally this included those responsible for installing the machinery on which the plant – and of course our reputation – would depend.

Honestly, I’ve never known anyone work so hard!

At the heart of the bar facility we had opted for an MEP Rebar Processing Machine, specifically the Planet 20, which had been especially adapted to run duplex. This was the first time the machine had been used to work stainless, so there were unknown aspects looming from day one. Given these uncertainties we called upon the services of AESS, with whom we had worked in the past and regarded highly. In fact it’s true to say that AESS were our first port on call for an operation such as this.

Phill Kingston of AESS took control of the project personally. For us this was in itself reassuring since we were all to some extent shooting in the dark over the new machinery and some of the duplex issues. As the installation progressed, Phill came up with plenty of ideas and suggestions whenever we hit a problem. He proved not only to have complete command over the install and commissioning but he also turned out to be a great teacher, empowering our guys to think for themselves and grow in confidence.

Good installation and commissioning, good teaching and a good working outcome.

Under Phill’s guidance the installation went completely according to plan. I have no hesitation in saying that the performance of Phill and AESS was totally professional and very reliable. They would be welcome here again at any time.
